FINDING THE RIGHT FIT
Lorimer Education is an independent education consultancy supporting families in choosing the right school for their child. I offer personalised guidance to help you navigate the admissions process with clarity and confidence.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: children thrive when they feel they belong. Finding the right school is not about prestige or results alone, but about choosing an environment where a child feels understood, supported, and able to be themselves.
Drawing on my experience as a teacher and former Head of Year, I help families look beyond league tables to find schools that are the right fit — academically, socially, and emotionally — so that children can grow in confidence and fulfil their potential.
Whether you are relocating from abroad, considering 11+, 13+, or 16+ entry, or weighing up London day schools versus boarding options, I provide calm, expert guidance to help you navigate the UK’s independent school landscape.

ABOUT
I am a teacher, educational consultant, and former Head of Year with over a decade of experience working with children and families across both the independent and state sectors.
After leaving Downe House School, I studied French at the University of Oxford and began my career mentoring young students. I later completed a PGCE in French and Spanish and I have taught at one of the leading independent girls' schools in London since 2020. From 2022 to 2026, I held the roles of Head of Year 7 and Head of Year 8.
In my work as a Head of Year, I have seen first-hand how profoundly a child’s experience of school is shaped by whether they feel they truly belong. That sense of belonging — feeling understood, supported, and valued — is what gives children the confidence to learn, take risks, and fulfil their potential.
This belief underpins my work as an education consultant. I help families find schools that are not only academically appropriate, but also the right fit socially and emotionally for their child.
I understand how overwhelming the school selection process can feel, and I offer calm, thoughtful guidance grounded in real classroom experience and a deep understanding of school culture.
My primary passion is helping families make confident, well-informed decisions — because choosing the right school has a lasting impact on a child’s wellbeing, self-belief, and future success.

This kind of intel and advice has been so useful for us as a family living in Spain with no real knowledge about which schools would best sort our daughter and her creative pursuits.

We are so grateful to Eliza for helping us understand and navigate the tricky admissions landscape.
